Other Cars
The Electric Vehicle Project is also working on two other cars, the Lectric Leopard and the Black Bullet (affectionately named by Amy).
Lectric Leopard

The Lectric Leopard was donated to us from a gentleman in Florida. The Lectric Leo is a two door car with two front seats and a bench in the rear which is currently not installed. It is a four speed manual transmission with a working clutch and speedometer. The electical system works properly as the brake, reverse and headlamps are all operational. The in-dash voltmeter and ammeter are not currently connected to the controller unit.
The Lectric Leo's motor is a simple non-reversible (not easily at least!) DC motor coupled directly to the Renault's transmission.
The Lectric Leo has a simple mechanical relay system which switches between two different battery configurations depending on the state of the accelerator pedal.
The Black Bullet

Our current project is building an electric Indy type racing car from scratch. The body was an old SAE body that had not been touched in years; we sanded it and then painted it black. The motor, transmission, wheel assemblies and everything else we needed came from the other Lectric Leopard.
