?Before I came to the United States, I heard stories about divorce and how people remarry, and that many people don't even get married. These things aren't accepted in China ? people should marry, have children and spend their whole life together. So what I knew from movies and stories about American families was that this wasn't common,? she said.

This topic can certainly lead to a debate. I guess I was emphasizing the difference and the reporter was overstating it. What I learned from this was that you should always make sure that your audience understand you correctly after you made a statement.
