Embracing Diversity
Two things impress me most about Duke: one is the faculty-student ratio, the other is diversity.
I work in a research group of eleven scientists and engineers, five of which are Americans, two are from China, one from France, one from Germany, one from Nigeria, and one whose parents are from Vietnam. In such diversity, it is interesting how people think differently; it is even amazing how people from completely different backgrounds can learn from each other while working together.
