About Me

I was born in Changzhou, China but came to the U.S. when I was just one where I spent the majority of my life in Tallahassee, FL.

I am a junior at Duke University majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Programming Experience

The earliest memory I have of using a computer is when I was typing a report on mollusks in 2nd grade.  I've used PCs and Macs and I generally use them for surfing the web and checking email.

I was first interested in computer science when I attended a Math and Science summer camp called YSP but it wasn't until later when I actually learned something useful.

I think a computer scientist does what any scientist does:  lots and lots of research.

My worst programming experience was when I took AP Computer Science.  Unfortunately, it was an online class with no actual structure and in those days, I was a very immature teenager prone to procrastination and put off the entire semester's work load until the very end.  It took a very, very long time.

My favorite project thus far was actually huffman from cps100 because it was the first project where I thought I made a program that actually did something.

I hope to see computers become more and more integrated with human life where I possibly might one day be fused with a computer in some form or fashion.
